Autumn 1, Week 7

{item_alt_tag}

As part of our School Development Plan (SDP), staff have been reviewing our strategies to promote positive behaviour and how to support children in maintaining great standards. One of the key ways that we promote positive behaviour is through our three school rules, where we expect all children to:

Be ready         Be respectful         Be Safe

Our three school rules underpin all that we do here at school and we believe, whether you are a child or an adult, these apply to all aspects of life in school and beyond.

Over the coming weeks, we will be launching pupil groups to lead on different aspects of school life and to represent their peers in discussions such as: school meals, behaviour rewards and the environment. We look forward to sharing our progress in this area with you throughout the year.

Attendance & Punctuality

Reception Admissions

It may feel like a long way off right now, but applications for next year’s Reception classes are now open. If you have a child in our Nursery class, you still need to apply via Manchester City Council.

We will be providing opportunities for parents/carers to complete these applications by providing access to a device or having members of staff available to answer any questions you may have – details to follow.

As part of our commitment to being a Rights Respecting School, our children take part in a weekly assembly learning about one of their rights. They reflect on the ways in which their rights are fulfilled and also where some children in the world do not.

This week's focus was on Article 6: Life, Survival and Development.

The children considered healthy diets, access to clean water and somewhere safe to live.

Parent Governor Vacancy

We currently have a vacancy for a Parent Governor to join our Full Governing Body. Governors are responsible for making sure the school provides a good quality education, raises standards and maintains a secure financial position.

If you think you might be interested in becoming one of our Governors, visit our school website or have a conversation with a member of the Senior Leadership Team. Details around how you can nominate yourself to be considered for this voluntary role have been shared with this week’s Newsletter. We look forward to hearing from you.

Important Notes & Reminders

Arbor & School Grid Accounts

Thank you for clearing any outstanding debts on your accounts. By keeping your account in credit/clear from debt, it means that the school budget is not impacted and money can be spent on the children as intended.

Healthier Lunchbox Recipes

Whether squeezing it in before the school run in the morning or before bed on busy midweek evenings, preparing your child's lunchbox can seem like just another thing on the list. School meals are a great choice, but if you do make a packed lunch for your child then take a look at a range of quick, easy, healthier lunchbox ideas and tips here.
