Look at our recounts from the castle trip.

Here are our models of a castle. We made a winding mechanism so the portcullis or drawbridge could go up and down.
We will be holding an exhibition of our models at the end of term for you to see the amazing work the children have been doing. Details will follow nearer the time.

In maths we are continuing with our CLIC tests. These will be sent home each week so you can see your child's progress and so you can work on any questions they are getting wrong. There is also the Learn It's test to work on. These are the quick fire calculations the children need to know off by heart. Other areas of focus this term are a revision of addition and subtraction strategies, fractions of numbers and shapes and money.

Below are some links to games the children can play online.

Welcome back after the summer break. We have had a lovely start to the term so far and the children are eager to learn.

We are starting this term with a topic about Africa. The children will be reading lots of stories set in Africa and also learning lots of facts and information about life in Africa. Some of you may have photographs, books and information you'd like to share with the children and we would be delighted to invite you in or to use your photos etc. within the lessons. We have already had a visitor from The Wild Roadshow who brought in some creatures that can be found living in the deserts and rainforests of Africa. Take a look at the photos below.

Look out for some of the work the children have produced over the next few weeks. There will be stories, reports and artwork to view.
We read the story of Lila and the Secret of the Rain. We wrote diaries as if we were Lila and discussed the thoughts and feelings of the people in the village. Then we retold the story in our own words and made a class version of all our best ideas. We then created our own short films by creating the scenes , music and narration for the story. We're really proud of them and we hope you enjoy watching them!
