The children have been learning about flour and honey as Rosie the hen walks past a mill and a beehive in our story. So today we made bread and then ate the bread with some honey.  The children really enjoyed this.

We re-enacted Rosie’s Walk with the children and they really enjoyed reciting the story and pointing the the different things Rosie’s sees on her walk.

Here’s are some photos from our walk.

The children have really enjoyed our story 'Rosie's Walk'.  They have been building enclosures for farm animals in the construction area and selling fruit and vegetables in our farm shop.

Miss Polly had a dolly

The children enjoyed making nurse's hats and looking after the dolls while learning about the Miss Polly had a dolly nursery rhyme.  They also made fantastic x-ray pictures and get well-cards for the poorly dolly.

Polly put the kettle on (Highlights from this week)

We have been learning the nursery rhyme Polly put the kettle on this week and had a surprise package delivery at the office.  We received a lovely letter from Polly, with a kettle and some hot chocolate.  The children loved making the hot chocolate and especially enjoyed drinking it!

Family Cake Afternoon

The children loved baking cakes this week for our family cake afternoon.  Thank you to all the family members who attended.  It was lovely to see so many of you and the children thoroughly enjoyed having you there to share the cakes and nursery activities.  Here are some photos of the children preparing the cakes.
