Home Learning in Year 6
Every child has chosen a book to read from their class library. We encourage children to read regularly and widely as this will help them in all areas of the curriculum. Children can change their book when they have finished it but should make sure they record which book they have in the class reading folder.
Children are asked to practise their times tables at home regularly. By the end of Year 6, children need to know the 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 times tables, this will help them with many aspects of Maths including division.
Children are given 10 spellings every Thursday which must be learned by the following Wednesday when there will be a test!
Every child has their own Learning Log & resources. Each week, your teacher will set you a curriculum homework challenge! You can use your imagination and get creative in presenting your piece of work.
