Welcome to Year 6!
We hope that you find all the information you need about life in Year 6 on this page. We will be posting updates about our exciting learning opportunities throughout the year.
This half term our project is Hola Mexico! We will be learning all about the geography and music of Mexico and then completing a DT project. Check back here to see what we have been up to!
We have been writing and recording our own podcasts about polar animals. Have a listen to the examples below.
To kick start our Gallery Rebels project, all of the Year 6 children visited Manchester Art Gallery. We took the bus into town and had to find our way to the gallery. When we got there we enjoyed exploring the galleries, making sketches of the art we liked and had fun creating our own art in the Clore Gallery. On the way back we found the statue of Queen Victoria, who we know all about from our last project.
Our first curriculum project of the year was Revolution. We learnt about the industrial revolution and life during the Victorian era. This included learning about the invention of the lightbulb, stories from the time, sewing, becoming revolutionaries and creating model Victorian streets.
