  • News on Wider Opening of Moston Fields

    Thu 21 May 2020 S. Murray

Letters that explain our view and the plans we are making have been sent to all parents and carers via email but are also on the Newsletters page.

Please see here also for the Final Parent Survey that 190 parents took part in! Thank you to all who did as it helped us in understanding the current community view on widening access to school.

We have completed a through risk assessment and have made our plans based upon what we feel we can safely offer. We will keep our plan under review throughout next half term and continue to support all of our families and provide childcare, as we have been doing since the start of Lockdown.

We appreciate that this is a difficult time for everyone and we really hope that we can return to some kind of normality as soon as possible.

Our plan is for a phased return of Year 6 and then Year 1. Other year groups will be kept under review as things change.

  • Responding to the Latest Government Update on the 10th May

    Thu 14 May 2020 S. Murray

    Dear Parents and Carers,

You should have received a letter via email on Monday 11th May, letting you know that we are working on responding to the Governments announcement on the 10th May. To see these letters, please see the newsletter section of the website.

We waited for the guidance to come out and when it did on Monday 11th in the evening, it also included Nursery in the year groups that would return first.

As you know, we have been open throughout this period, offering childcare for children of Keyworkers. We have also been working hard on providing home learning, regular contact and support for vulnerable families. More than anything, we want our children to be back at school and we want to be teaching our children in the way we always do. However, we know that whilst Covid-19 still exists in such prevalence, we cannot teach in the same way that we have done before.

Therefore any wider opening of school has to be carefully planned - for the safety of all children, staff and parents. We are busy completing a very detailed risk assessment so that we can consider what we can safely provide. As this is ready, we will share with parents.

To help us in this process we really need an idea of your thoughts. We will then make sure that we consider these when we are planning.

Please look out for the Parent Survey that we will be circulating in a letter as a link later today via email - this will also be tweeted and the letter with link will be on the website today.

We know this is a difficult time for all of our families and we are so grateful that you have stayed in touch with us. You are doing a fantastic job, thank you.

    Best wishes,

    Sarah Murray
