Woodwork

The children have been hard at work making bird boxes with Mr Campbell.

Below is an insight into the sessions, week by week.

Hopefully we will have some pictures of the finished product soon!

Here are some of the skills the children will be developing:

  • Problem solving (including measuring and ratio)
  • Decision making
  • Critical thinking
  • Creative thinking
  • Communication skills

This week we applied our maths skills as we measured and cut pieces of wood to scale.

Our design for the mud kitchen is coming along, we looked at different saws and their uses, we discussed which wood would be suitable for our kitchen and measured and calculated wood needed to create the structure.
