World Book Day!

 World Book Day 2019

World Book day 2019 was a huge success across the school. The children had a lovely day that reminded them of why we love reading!

Each class was nominated an author to research, be inspired by and write in the style of throughout the day. All as part of the #ShareaStory theme.

Here are the authors the children looked at across the school!

In the morning, we opened up the hall for a 'Booky Breakfast' ! Children and parents were invited in to spend the beginning of the day in great way; with toast, juice and of course, books! We had such a good turn out, we'll definitely be doing this again soon!

Each class had the challenge of dressing up as a character from one of their author's books. This meant so many children discovered new exciting reads from authors they had never heard of before!

The children did lots of activities around their class author, learning about who they are, what genres of stories they write and we even spent some time writing our own story in the style of our author! The result were great!

Just some of the fabulous work produced on World Book Day! #Shareastory #EveryChildaReader

Big Book Swap! After school we hosted our annual BIG BOOK SWAP! There was an amazing turn out of children and parents and it was so nice to see so many avid readers searching for a good book. Thank you to all those who brought in books to swap and we hope you found a new read to sink your teeth into.
