Easter Egg Hunt

The children took part in an Easter Egg Hunt on the last day of term to win treats.  The aim was to find the golden eggs.  The children had lots of fun.

We're Going on a Bear Hunt

We went on our very own bear hunt with the children and found long wavy grass and a thick oozy mud.  The children loved retelling the story as we went on our hunt for a bear.

Teddy Bear's Picnic

The children have had so much fun with their teddy friends at the Teddy Bear's Picnic.  We made Teddy Paw Biscuits, sang songs about teddy bears, read teddy bear stories and shared our picnic with our teddy bear friends. smiley

Pancake Day

The children really enjoyed following the recipe to make pancakes for the three bears' breakfast instead of porridge.  We tried 3 different toppings of honey, sugar and chocolate spread.

We have been learning about Chinese New Year. The children enjoyed learning that 2019 is the year of the pig and that red is a lucky colour and gold brings fortune. We made dragon masks and tried lots of different Chinese foods. We also made a giant dragon.
The children have been learning about flour and honey as Rosie the hen walks past a mill and a beehive in our story. So today we made bread and then ate the bread with some honey.  The children really enjoyed this.

We re-enacted Rosie’s Walk with the children and they really enjoyed reciting the story and pointing the the different things Rosie’s sees on her walk.

Here’s are some photos from our walk.

The children have really enjoyed our story 'Rosie's Walk'.  They have been building enclosures for farm animals in the construction area and selling fruit and vegetables in our farm shop.

Miss Polly had a dolly

The children enjoyed making nurse's hats and looking after the dolls while learning about the Miss Polly had a dolly nursery rhyme.  They also made fantastic x-ray pictures and get well-cards for the poorly dolly.

Polly put the kettle on (Highlights from this week)

We have been learning the nursery rhyme Polly put the kettle on this week and had a surprise package delivery at the office.  We received a lovely letter from Polly, with a kettle and some hot chocolate.  The children loved making the hot chocolate and especially enjoyed drinking it!

Family Cake Afternoon

The children loved baking cakes this week for our family cake afternoon.  Thank you to all the family members who attended.  It was lovely to see so many of you and the children thoroughly enjoyed having you there to share the cakes and nursery activities.  Here are some photos of the children preparing the cakes.
