• Immersive Education - Minecraft

  Today MGL kindly brought their Minecraft server into school to allow 18 children in Key Stage 2 to be immersed into another world.

   

  We built a Minecraft network and challenged the children to find facts about Ancient Egypt using the gaming platform.

   

  The children told me the afternoon was 'awesome' and they 'couldn't believe they were using Mindcraft in school'

  Little did they know that they we secretly becoming Ancient Egypt experts!

   

  

• Year 5 Science Trip to Smithills Farm

  What an exhausting day!

  Year 5 went to Smithills farm today to look at the habitats and life cycles of lots of different animals, linking to our science topic, 'Living Thing and their Habitats.'

  We had the opportunity to;

  • Go on a tractor ride into the fields to feed some donkeys and horses
  • Feed lots of different animals
  • Watch cows being milked
  • Feed and hold lots of very cute baby animals

   

  The children were a credit to the school and we had a fabulous day!

• Lyme park - Orienteering

  On Friday, year 6 went on another outdoor adventure.

  This week Mrs White arranged an orienteering trail around Lyme park.

   

  The children had a brilliant day developing their team work and map reading skills.

• Year 6 - Manchester Climbing Centre

  On Friday 19th June, year 6 went out on their 3rd adventure!

   

  They had a brilliant day at Manchester Climbing Centre and developed lots of interpersonal and life skills!

• Go-Ride Mountain Bike Competition

  On Tuesday 9th June, 5 children attended the British Cycling Mountain Bike competition at Our Lady's RC High School.

   

  Alens, Ellie, Elijah, Ibrahim and Abi were a credit to themselves and the school and they should be really proud of their achievements.

  We arrived back at Moston Fields with 5 beautiful bronze medals.

  Well done kids!

• Dovestones 5th June

  On Friday 5th June, the year 6 children went out on their first outdoor adventure.

   

  After arriving at Dovestones, the children spent the day out in the sunshine, enjoying the views, rambling and observing the wildlife.
