  • World Book Day Thursday 7th March 2019

    Mon 25 Feb 2019 S. Murray

World Book Day We will be celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 7th March. A letter was sent home with the details on the last day of half term. Ask at the desk or check the website if you haven’t received one.   We will be starting the day with a Booky Breakfast at 8.30am in the hall (start the day with a good read together and a slice of toast!) We will be writing our own 500 word stories and taking part in the BBC competition and we will end the day with a Big Book Swap in the hall after school. Please bring along any old books to swap and get your tickets ready to choose some more! Children can dress up this year – each year group has an author and we are setting the children a challenge of using the author’s books or themes to inspire their dressing up! For author lists – please see the class letters as mentioned above. They will be published on the newsletter section of the website soon.

  • RRSA Silver Award - We are now a Rights Aware School

    Mon 25 Feb 2019

On January 31st we had a visit from a UNICEF education consultant, Pat Peaker. Pat had a busy day, meeting lots of children, staff, parents and Governors. She talked to children, had a guided tour of our school and spent lots of time looking at our evidence.

We are proud to announce that we have been successful in achieving our Silver Award and are now Rights Aware. Our children and staff feel rightly proud.

Thanks to all who have supported this journey so far - we are now going to take the next steps towards being a Gold Rights Respecting School...watch this space.

Please read the report in the newsletter section of the website!

  • Proud to be Me Day

    Mon 25 Feb 2019 S. Murray

We had a wonderful time celebrating our Proud to be Me day on February 1st. The day saw us learning about a variety of different cultures, creating artwork, dancing and fact finding. Some children also ran language stations at break time - teaching other children some of their home language.

After school we held an International Food Hall - it was an amazing success, with lots of parents and families visiting, eating and bringing along food to share. Thanks to all who came, brought food and made this event such a success. We have had lots of requests to hold another so watch this space!
